Angela and Paul’s ceremony was held at the beautiful St Mary’s Cathedral; this is one of the most amazing churches in Perth and is always a favourite place for a church wedding. Afterwards the wedding photos were taken in the grounds of UWA. The reception was held at the UWA club with around 140 guests attending.

The Proposal

Paul proposed on the 31st of August 2013, the last day of winter.  We went to have a “look” at engagement rings expecting it to be difficult to choose one and expecting a wait from order to collection; to our surprise it all fell into place the same day.

Our dogs Christian and Jessie brought us together.  We started taking our respective dogs for walks to the park and ended up talking for hours and hours.  Eventually we fell in love.  One day Paul suggested our dogs would be better off if they were together during the day while we are at work… Essentially he stole my dog and we had to move in together after that.

Tips and advice

I used a spreadsheet to stay organised.  I had a sheet for the guest list, one for the reception, appointments, supplier information and a to do list.  It evolved as I went along.  When I needed to send information out I just sent the sheet required rather than the whole document.

Take care of yourself.  Accept help when it is offered to you.  Relax and enjoy the quality time you get to spend with your friends and family for the occasion.  Have fun!

The Honeymoon

Wildlife Safari organised our wondrous journey to Mauritius, Kenya and Madagascar.

My cousin Romina and I collected vintage style vases and candle holders from op shops and my sister Heather and I decorated recycled jars and bottles with different textures of hessian and string to use as vases.  Our florist (Florambiente) tied it all beautifully together at the reception
